Forever in our hearts...
“You will lose someone you can’t live without, and your heart will be badly broken, and the bad news is that you never completely get over the loss of your beloved. But this is also the good news. They live forever in your broken heart that doesn’t seal back up. And you come through. It’s like having a broken leg that never heals perfectly—that still hurts when the weather gets cold, but you learn to dance with the limp.”

Charlie and family Please accept our condolenses. Roz was a special person and she will be missed by many. What a beautiful picture of Roz, We first became acquainted with you and Roz in Germany and we became friends there, and then, you arrived in Victoria after we had been posted back to Victoria from Germany. I don’t know if you knew that we became firm friends over the past few years on Facebook (how lovely it was to be able to communicate so easily) thank goodness for computers, it definitely brought people closer together. Can’t remember when you lived on the Island, but after Germany we remained friends and also after you left the Island. We spoke on the phone through good and bad times. She was a caring and wonderful friend and we kept each other up to date talking about those we knew both in Germany and in Canada. She kept us up to date on your comings and goings, the trips and friends we both knew. Even after her diagnosis we continued to play “Words with Friends” on FB and we were evenly matched. I shall miss these times, we had some fun conversations. She will be missed by many. I will remember her always. Here is something I found and I think it is something that will help through this sad time and in days to pass. "She's in the sun, the wind, the rain, she's in the air you breathe with every breath you take. She sings a song of hope and cheer, there's no more pain, no more fear. You'll see her in the clouds above hear her whisper words of love, you'll be together before long, until then listen for her song.

We were called the Ski Bunnies! In 1982 a group of Scotiabankers from Kingston Ontario decided to start going away for a ski weekend as a yearly retreat. Roz was the youngest and there were 9 of us. For over 30 years we would faithfully go away, there was always laughter and maybe a few tears but always fun to get together.
Sadlyt as we grew older we retired and went in different directions, there are now only 4 left. We still keep in touch through social media and follow each others adventures in retirement.
Roz we will miss you and think of you often.
Bev, Joanne, Pat and Liz.

My heartfelt condolences to you, Charles, to Rachel and family and to David and family on the loss of Rosalind, the purest soul that I had the honor of knowing.
As cousins we had many childhood adventures and I feel blessed to have experienced a soul as enlightened as Roz’s.
The angelic spirit surrounding Roz’s blond haired aura in this photo stayed with her all her life.

My dear friend Charles,
I first met Roz at Scotiabank Fanshawe and Hyde Park Branch. We became a team opening a new branch in Hyde Park but also became good friends. We shared many days laughing, crying behind closed doors in that ABM room. We shared the good times and the bad. Roz was a great listener and such a kind soul. She helped me when I left my alcoholic husband and gave me the courage and confidence to carry on and build a new life. We walked down the scary road of life together, she always encouraged me and cheered me on. Roz always showed her love for her family and fought fiercely for them. Her amazing drive to keep learning and studying was commendable. She always had that drive to help everyone she met. Her unfailing faith and love has kept her strong and has guided her on her journey. As she is now with her Heavenly Father and her heavy burden of cancer is now lifted, I pray you find comfort in knowing she is safe and pain free in the arms of our Saviour. I pray your memories of Roz especially the last years as you travelled around the world will sustain you and give you peace. It’s not goodbye Charles, but till you meet again!
Thinking of you in the days ahead.
Katie

My late husband Terry Butler and I first met Roz and Charlie when we bought their house in London in 2010. My husband was a pilot in the US Air force and we felt an immediate bond with another military family. Our friendship developed over the years and we visited them in Grand Bend and they stopped in to see us in Florida. Roz and I kept in touch and I was always impressed with her kindness, gentleness, amazing organization skills, love of family and wonderful sense of humour. You will be much missed Roz and forever loved and remembered. Rest in peace…and as Terry would say…fly high…

First, we would like to express our very heartfelt condolences to you, Charles and family on the loss of your wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. I first met Roz when we lived beside each other in residence at Queen’s. Then life happened: marriage, children, grandchildren, joy and loss. Although we lost touch over the years we were fortunate to reconnect through social media and a mutual friend until we were able to meet in person both at their lovely home in Grand Bean and at our cottage. We have many wonderful memories. Roz, gentle, loving and compassionate, we will miss you, my friend. Bob and Holly Meining

Rose was caring and loving lady. I first met her when I was in Highschool, when George and Rachel were getting married, and although we didn’t get to spend much time together in person, we often met at family gatherings, and we kept in touch over social media. She would always checked on how I was doing, and how my boys were doing. She would often encourage me, send me messages, and I really enjoyed our conversations. The last conversation we had was on my birthday last year, December. Although she was going through such a hard time, I could feel her positive, and strong energy. I know
that she is now in a good place with God where she gets to her eternal life without any pain. Rose is in a special place in my heart, and she will be really missed.

Roz went above and beyond when it came to kindness, encouraging, and helping others. The first time I met her I was volunteering for the Huron county food Bank distribution center in Grand Bend. She stepped right in and helped me while I needed to step away for a couple of minutes. (Nature calling).
We became friends instantly, I will miss her so much. Sharing in your tremendous loss Charles. Looking forward to giving you a hug in person.

We were 9 Scotiabankers in Kingston Ontario who formed a cross country ski group in 1981. We called ourselves the ski bunnies.
Every February and in later years September we spent time together and bonded with lots of laughter and sometimes tears.
Time has not dimmed these memories and we still keep in touch through social media, telephone and emails even though our paths have led in different directions.
Roz was the youngest and her loss is deeply felt by those who are left.
Rest in peace Roz.

Charles, Rachel and family,
Mike and I are sending our sincerest condolences. Roz and her gentle heart will be truly missed.
Roz and I were first roommates at Queen’s University in September 1970. We also became good friends with Holly. Between the 3 of us, we had a few escapades. We lost touch for several years but the 3 of us reconnected about 15 years ago and had since kept in touch with each other. Roz came out to Calgary to visit friends including us. She even attended her first NHL game with me.
I know Roz is no longer in pain which I am grateful for. She will continue to be forever in your hearts.
