Obituary of John Windred Crowe
CROWE: John Windred Crowe of Grand Bend, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2006 at South Huron Hospital, Exeter after a lengthy and courageous battle with primary pulmonary hypertension. He was 62 years old. John was born in Thunder Bay in 1943 and also resided in Chatham, London, Dutton and Grand Bend. He began his policing career with London City Police and joined the Ontario Provincial Police where he was stationed in Dutton. He transferred to Grand Bend OPP in 1981 and served there until he retired in 1994. John was loved and will be greatly missed by his devoted wife and best friend Marje Crowe, daughters Janaine Rake (Jason) of London, Tami Holmes (David) of Sarnia, Sandra Bondarchuk of Edmonton, Alberta, and his son Sean Crowe (Philippa) of Waterdown. Cherished grandfather of Ashton and Lauren Rake, Jeffrey and Jessica Holmes, Sarah, Alexander and Michael Crowe and Oblio Bondarchuk. He will be sadly missed by his in-laws in Saskatchewan and British Columbia. Survived by brother Charles Crowe (Marnie) in Michigan and predeceased by his parents Fred and Edna (Morrisson) Crowe and brother George. At John’s request, an informal Celebration of His Life will be held at the Grand Bend Legion, Friday, March 10, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. Bob Willmott, his Grand Bend OPP partner, will be Master of Ceremonies. All John’s friends and colleagues are invited to attend and share their memories. John will be so greatly missed by everyone who loved him. T.
