Obituary of Melvin Christian Stade

STADE: Peacefully, at Blue Water Rest Home, Zurich, Friday, February 4, 2005, Melvin Christian Stade, 88, formerly of RR 3, Dashwood. Beloved husband of Gertrude “Gertie” (Biesenthal) Stade for 47 years. Loved father of Sherrie Edwards of RR 3, Dashwood and the late Oliver “Ollie” Edwards (2003). Dear brother-in-law of Eleanore and Clarence Miller, Frieda Wilson, Margaret Klein, Alma Klisch, Elda Freer, Scharlotte and Philip Lowenberg, Herb and Delores Biesenthal, Russell Miller, Bert and Clara Molzan, and Elsie Biesenthal. Remembered by his many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, parents William (1955) and Flossie (Geiger) (1965) Stade. Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, with visitation Tuesday 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church, Dashwood, Wednesday, February 9, 2005 at 11 a.m. The Rev. John E. Trembulak III officiating. Interment Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Melvin was born on the Stade homestead, farmed all his life and was a former member of the Dashwood-Seaforth Band, Huronia Male Chorus and Zion Lutheran Church Choir for many years.
