Obituary of John Joseph Teahen

TEAHEN, John Joseph: Our hearts are saddened by the death of our dad, Jack, on Tuesday, February 5, 2013. Our parents rarely did anything apart so it comes as no surprise that dad followed the love of his life, our mom, Doris, 27 days after she died. Their love, laughter and devotion have been an inspiration to all of us. His children Beth and Pat Breen, Erin and Ted Lawson, and Jane and Leonard Jones as well as his grandchildren Sarah and Andrew, Michael, Kyle, Kate and Andy, William, Michele and Andrew will miss his support, unique sense of humour and offers of drives, drinks and afternoons on the deck. Jack will be missed by his sisters and brother-in-law, Betty Lou Gibb and Ken (deceased) and Joan and Leo Clement and by his brother-in-law Pat King and Sylvia. Jack was predeceased by his sister, Doris Reader. Uncle Jack is fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews. His cars, especially convertibles, were a real hit. Jack received his BA from Assumption College in Windsor. For over 30 years, Jack proudly worked in sales and marketing for CIP, a job he thoroughly enjoyed and which took the family to Montreal, Toronto and London. Many happy hours were spent at cottages in Wasaga and Grand Bend with wonderful friends. The family wish to thank family, close friends and colleagues, past and present, who have been so supportive over the years. We are so grateful that dad was able to attend mom's funeral and relive so many fond memories with family and friends. We wish to acknowledge the care and compassion of the entire CCAC team as well as the staff and volunteers at Lambton Elderly Outreach and St. Joseph’s Hospice where dad and the family received such loving support over the past two months. A Funeral Mass was held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Grand Bend on Friday, February 8, 2013 at 11 a.m., followed by burial at Pinery Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Joseph's Hospice Sarnia, with thanks from the family. T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, entrusted with arrangements.
