Obituary of John Hubert Hogan
HOGAN: Peacefully, surrounded with love, at his residence in Exeter, on Saturday, December 30, 2023, John “Jack” Hubert Hogan, formerly of Stephen Twp., age 91, after a long struggle with prostate cancer. Beloved husband of Mary G. (Dixon) (Orr) Hogan. Loved father and father-in-law of Mike and Nancy Hogan of Hay, Pat and Sherry Hogan of London, Michele Kremer and Juerg Schmutz of Kincardine and Sean Hogan of Texas. Lovingly remembered by Mary’s children Barbara and Tony Fisher of Kemptville, Kathryn Orr and Allen Oesch of Meaford. Jack was loved and will be missed by his 12 grandchildren and 12+ great-grandchildren and their families. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Nell McCann of Mount Carmel, Cecilia Mittelholtz of Ilderton, Joe and Pauline Hogan of Exeter, Rita Hogan and Don Smallwood of Grand Bend, Jim Williamson of Exeter, Pauline Miller of Zurich and Marilyn Dixon of Lucan. Jack will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his parents Wilfred and Philomene (Desjardine) Hogan, sister Margaret “Marg” Williamson, sisters-in-law Ruth Hogan, Shirley Martene and brothers-in-law Jack McCann, Bill Inson, Ed Mittelholtz, Bill Dixon, Art Miller, Tony Martene and nephew Scott Inson. Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, with visitation on Wednesday, January 03, 2024, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, Mount Carmel, on Wednesday, January 03, 2024 at 11 am. The Rev. Father Vincent Gulikers Celebrant. Interment Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Cemetery, Mount Carmel. Jack was a charter member of the Exeter - Mt Carmel Council # 8480, Knights of Columbus and was a long time employee of 35+ years for University of Western Ontario as a 2nd class Engineer. Memorial donations (payable directly) to Canadian Cancer Society; Parkinson Society or charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
