I was very saddened to hear of Stan's passing. Stan was a good guy and a long time friend of my dad the late Ron Snell. Stan leaves a legacy of many fond memories.

I had the chance to play with Stan a number of times through the Dashwood United Church but also in the South Huron Community Band for a number of years. An outstanding baritone and piano player but also a genuinely nice man. He will be greatly missed for his smile and his sense of humour. Many sympathies to Stan's family for their loss.

My memories of Stan go back many years. I recall him as a young man working for my dad on the GOSHEN line farm "stooking" sheves and hoeing beans. I also recall multiple trips to Church "Young Peoples" events in his Volkswagon beetle. These trips were always memorable fun filled events. Memories such as these tend to last a lifetime! Although Stan,as most people do, had few challenges in life he was always upbeat. This was constantly evident with his little "chuckle" and great sense of humour. Stanley had a "down to earth" quality yet was very astute in regards to any topic of conversation!
Stanley is Now AT REST AFTER A GOOD LIFE-SO BE IT!

Mr. Haist taught me and my sister at Blackbush for a few years. Two things that I recall readily, are his broad grin, and when we would play baseball at lunch hour, and he would join in. He hit the ball into Les Adam's field and the boys would jump the fence on to retrieve it. Mr, Haist would play in his suit and very seldom remove his jacket. These are good memories. RIP
