Obituary of Ruth Jessie Smith

SMITH: Peacefully, at Queensway Nursing Home, Hensall, on Monday, December 9, 2019, Ruth Jessie (Varley) Smith, formerly of Exeter and Crediton, age 97.  Beloved wife of the late Eldon Orville Smith (1995).  Loved mother and mother-in-law of Jim Green of Bayfield, Alma Griffith of London, Ron and Jane Green of Crediton, Carol Smith and partner Joe of Paquette Corners.  Loved and remembered by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and nieces, nephews and their families.  Predeceased by her daughter Marie (1968), daughter-in-law Cathy Green, son-in-law Ron Griffith, parents Henry James and Eliza Jane (Poulton) Varley, brothers Tom, Jim, Joe, Walt, Fred and Dave, sisters Doris Varley, Dorothy MacGregor-Thompson and Lavina Varley.  Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, on Friday, December 13, 2019 with visitation from 12 to 1 p.m., followed by the Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m.  Mr. Bob Heywood Officiant.  Interment Crediton Cemetery.  If desired, memorial donations (payable by cheque) to Canadian Diabetes Association, Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
