Obituary of James "Jim" Fredrick Finkbeiner
FINKBEINER: Peacefully, after a long and strong determined battle with Alzheimer’s, surrounded by the love of his family, at Chartwell Gardens Nursing Home, Parkhill, on Thursday, June 1, 2017, James “Jim” Fredrick Finkbeiner, of Exeter, formerly of Crediton, age 72. Beloved husband and best friend of 49+ years to Linda Darlene (Champ-Bowers) Finkbeiner recently of Parkhill. Loved father and father-in-law of Robert “Robb” Finkbeiner and Russell “Russ” and Marie Finkbeiner all of Exeter. Cherished papa of Jacob Finkbeiner, Lorna Finkbeiner and Ava Finkbeiner. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Ralph Finkbeiner and his companion Linda of Corunna, Melvin and Stella Finkbeiner of London, Elva and Dennis McIntyre of RR 2, Grand Bend, Ron and Louise Bowers of Ailsa Craig, Cathy and Gary Skinner of Exeter, Randy and Julie Bowers of RR 3, Dashwood and Robert Bowers of Crediton. Remembered by his father-in-law and mother-in-law Fred and Lorraine Bowers of Crediton, his god-son Kyle MacDonald and his wife Brandi, Heather and Bill Montgomery and his many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by his parents Russell E. and Dorothy E. (Ryckman) Finkbeiner, sister Carol Ann Finkbeiner, brothers-in-law Roger and Rick Bowers. At Jim’s request, cremation has taken place. As a tribute to Jim’s many walks, supporting Alzheimer’s, the family would like you to join with them for Jim’s FINAL walk on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 3:00 PM. The Walk will be begin at the old Crediton Fire Hall (Crediton Community Centre) and proceed to the Crediton Cemetery. A graveside interment service will take place with the Rev. Brian Elder Officiating. A Reception will follow at the Crediton Community Centre. If desired, memorial donations (payable by cheque) to help combat Alzheimer’s or to the Municipality of South Huron – Huron Park Fire Station in support of the many years service to his Community (for information regarding either of these charities please call 519-237-3532) would be appreciated by the family.
