Obituary of HARRY PETER GIELEN
GIELEN: Peacefully, with the knowledge of the love of his family surrounding him, at Exeter Villa, on Monday January 9, 2017, Harry Peter Gielen formerly of Grand Bend and RR 2, Crediton age 93. Beloved husband of the late Johanna “Jo” Maria (Van Osch) Gielen (2008) for over 56 years. Loved father and father-in-law of Mary Ann and Bill Smith of Grande Prairie, AB., John and Kathy Gielen of Crediton, the late “Kate” Kathleen Gielen-Cuddy (2015) and Peter Cuddy of London, Janet and Dave Willson of Red Deer, AB., Pauline and Michael Slattery of London, Gerard and Lisa Gielen of Crediton, Rosemary and Jeff Rowe of London. Loved by his 19 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and their families. Dear brother of Martin Gielen and Christien Gielen-Verrijth, Antoon Gielen and Mia Gielen-Sikes and Mia Gielen-Muijsers. Predeceased by Piet Gielen and Christien Gielen-Aerts, Jan Gielen, Jacob Gielen, Coba Gielen, Truus Gielen and Mia Gielen all of the Netherlands. Remembered also by the Van Osch families in Canada and the Netherlands. Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, with visitation Friday, 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Family and Parish prayers at the Funeral Home, Friday afternoon at 3:45 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, Mount Carmel, Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Father Len Desjardins Celebrant. Interment Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery. Harry will be remembered for his strong work ethics, his faith, love of life and the love for his family and friends.
