Obituary of Gerhard Rempel

REMPEL: Peacefully, surrounded by the love of his family, at South Huron Hospital, Exeter, Friday, November 5, 2010, Gerhard “George” Rempel, of RR 3, Dashwood, formerly of Leamington, age 69. Beloved husband of Lucia Doreen (Fleury) Rempel. Loved father and father-in-law of Victor and Lisa Rempel of Hensall, John and Val Rempel of RR 2, Zurich, Gerhard and Heather Rempel of RR 2, Dashwood (Shipka). Loving grandfather of Adam, Miranda, Mitchell, Mackenzie and Michael. Dear brother of Peter Rempel of Lithuainia, Liese Rempel, Margaretha Martens, Maria Frieson, Martha Rempel, all of Germany, Kathe Enns of Russia and brother-in-law of Hulda Rempel of Leamington. Remembered by his many nieces and nephews in Germany, Russia and cousins in Canada and their families. Predeceased by his brother John “Hans” Rempel and parents Margareta and Isbrand Rempel. George immigrated to Canada in 1958 with John and Hulda. Resting at the T. Harry Hoffman & Sons Funeral Home, Dashwood, with visitation Monday 5 to 8 p.m., thence to Leamington United Mennonite Church, 78 Oak St., Leamington, for visitation Tuesday, November 9, 2010 commencing at 12 noon, followed by the Funeral Service at 1 p.m. Pastor Edward Brown officiating. Interment Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, Leamington. If desired, memorial donations to Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
