Obituary of Ronald William Caldwell
CALDWELL: Unexpectedly, at South Huron Hospital, Exeter, Monday, July 20, 2009, Ronald “Ron” William Caldwell of Exeter, formerly of Dashwood, age 84. Loved father of Mike and Chris Caldwell of Exeter, Kim Caldwell and companion Jason Farraway of Dashwood. Loving grandpa of Ryan Caldwell and long time companion of Grace E. Cooper of Exeter. Dear brother and brother-in-law of Jean Tozer of London, Shirley Damant of Hamilton, Harold and Wilma Caldwell of Hensall, Bob Caldwell of Exeter, George and Peggy Snell of RR 2, Grand Bend, Jack and Lia Snell of RR 3, Dashwood. Predeceased by his former wife Norma Elizabeth (Snell) Caldwell (2008), sisters-in-law Eudora Caldwell, Isabel Snell, Jean Smith, brothers-in-law Harry Tozer, Ray Snell and parents William J. and Edna M. “Ted” (Sararas) Caldwell. Cremation. A graveside Interment Service for family and friends will be held at the Exeter Public Cemetery, Friday, July 31, 2009 at 1 p.m. Mr. Bob Heywood officiating. Memorial donations to Queensway Nursing Home, Hensall or charity of choice would be appreciated. Ron was a former Supertest Garage and tow-truck operator in Exeter, worked as a commercial vehicle (diesel) mechanic for school bus and trucking companies in Exeter and sailed the Great Lakes as a wheelsman and 3rd mate on many grain and iron-ore freighters.
